Im Jahre 2019 wurde die FinOps Foundation gegründet zur Verbreitung von Best Practices rund um Cloud Financial Management bzw. Finance und DevOps, kurz FinOps genannt. Ähnlich wie bei DevOps steht vor allem die Kollaboration zwischen den beiden Welten im Vordergrund, mittels Kostentransparenz wird dabei eine gemeinsame Sicht erreicht und die Kommunikation zwischen Executives, Business, Finance und Entwicklung verbessert mit dem Ziel der Kosteneffizienz oder anders gesagt: Wertmaximierung.

Wir werden uns neben einer kurzen generellen Einführung zu FinOps das Framework und die Capabilities genauer ansehen, das die Foundation bis heute entwickelt hat.

Wir werden uns anhand einer kurzen Geschichte von einem Container Plattform-Team und mehreren Entwicklungsteams eine FinOps Implementierung anschauen,um besser zu verstehen, warum die Zusammenarbeit ein zentraler Mittelpunkt ist und wie das FinOps Framework dabei helfen kann.

Anschließend laden wir alle Teilnehmer ein, ihre Fragen zu stellen und ihre eigene Geschichte und Erfahrungen zu teilen.

In 2019, the FinOps Foundation was founded to disseminate best practices around Cloud Financial Management or Finance and DevOps, in short FinOps. Similar to DevOps, the main focus is on collaboration between the two worlds, using cost transparency to achieve a common view and improve communication between executives, business, finance and development with the goal of cost efficiency or in other words: value maximization.

We will have a short general introduction to FinOps and a closer look at the framework and capabilities that the Foundation has developed to date.
We will look at a FinOps implementation through a short story of a Container Platform team and multiple development teams,to better understand why collaboration is a key focus and how the FinOps framework can help.

We will then invite all attendees to ask their questions and share their own stories and experiences.
