Cloud Foundry – Hands-on Deep Dive into CF Push

Details

Once Cloud Foundry is installed, it is quite easy to deploy and run an application. But what really happens behind the scenes?

In this hands-on session we will explore the installation of Cloud Foundry on your local machine and delve into the machinery!

We will cover:

• What happens internally on a cf push
• Understand the structure of the Cloud Foundry platform machines
• What happens in the build pack
• Eavesdrop on the Cloud Foundry message broker NATS
• Looking inside your Warden containers
• How to achieve zero down time deployments

Prerequisites

It is mandatory to have this installation up and running before the workshop! It will take you between 2 and 4 hours (if you are lucky), to install it given sufficient bandwidth.

• Your own laptop, preferably 16Gb of memory
• Vagrant + virtual box installed
• A running installation of Cloud Foundry v169 on your local machine (See https://github.com/cloudfoundry/bosh-lite )
