Considering some of us are fighting the heatwave on a beach somewhere, we decided to merge July and August meetups into one relaxed Summer Edition, on August 4th. We're talking about Serverless and Event Driven Applications over beer and pizza, zooming in on Knative and AWS Lambda with our two rockstar speakers!

KNative Deepdive
Knative is an opensource implementation of serverless containers, allowing running your functions on any kubernetes clusters, on any private or public cloud.

Ana-Maria Mihalceanu will talk about Knative with Boson Project Buildpacks

To successfully adopt serverless functions for a distributed system, developers should possess knowledge about function-oriented programming, cloud computing, and data infrastructure. We also must consider memory and CPU optimization, together with high-performance boot and startup times in both development and production environments. What if we didn't have to worry about all of that?

Ana-Maria is Java Champion, Application Architect, co-founder of Bucharest Software Craftsmanship Community, and a constant adopter of challenging technical scenarios involving Java-based frameworks and multiple cloud providers. She is an active supporter of technical communities’ growth through knowledge sharing and enjoys curating content for conferences as a program committee member.
As a speaker, Ana often participates at the top international conferences: her sessions are full of good practices, well-crafted examples, and useful tips.

AWS Lambda Deepdive
Eduard Panfile will talk about Cloud Native applications running on AWS Lambda.

We'll look at a real life serverless event-driven application running on AWS Lambda. The talk focus on the local developer experience, which can be horrible in serverless architecture.

Eduard is a well-rounded IT specialist with a passion for designing well thought-out system architectures that support business needs.
He works on AWS cloud native solutions using components that out-of-the-box come with features which normally take a lot of effort to develop.
