Join us on Thursday, February 26, as we're partnering with Bucharest Big Data meetup, to talk about real-time analytics. First, Alex Campos, Senior Solutions Engineer at Ververica, will introduce Apache Fluss, a streaming storage layer that makes incoming data immediately queryable, reducing duplication, cost, and architectural complexity while complementing message queues.

Next, Diana Streche, Senior BI Engineer at Adore Me, will share a hands-on case study on how their team brings analytics data closer to real time, reducing end-to-end latency with a Google Cloud setup built on BigQuery, Cloud Run Functions, Orchestrator, and Pub/Sub, illustrated through a GA4 data pipeline.

First talk: Apache Fluss, The Hero of Data City
Message queues are the backbone of modern streaming systems, but when used as long-term data platforms, they introduce duplication, rising costs, and complex architectures. As real-time analytics demands increase, treating streams as transient messages is no longer sufficient.
This talk introduces Apache Fluss, a streaming storage system designed to make data queryable immediately as it arrives. By combining schema-first tables, native record mutation, columnar storage, and unified data tiering, Fluss enables fresh queries, simpler architectures, and lower operational cost.
Through architectural comparisons and real-world use cases, the session shows how Fluss complements message queues and helps teams build faster, more sustainable real-time data platforms.
About the speaker
Alex is an experienced trilingual Technical Sales professional with 10+ years of hands-on experience in Data solutions throughout Latam, Caribbean, and Europe regions, knowledgeable about different industries. Combining his technical background and experience with a business-oriented and innovative approach, Alex is helping companies identify and bridge technology to business to accelerate Digital Transformation.

Second talk: Almost Real-Time: How Close Is Close Enough?
Having real-time data is not always possible, and it's really easy to fall into data staleness when you're using a classic scheduler approach. How do you reduce the lead time for your data, and how fresh is fresh enough?
We've prepared a showcase on our solution to this problem over at Adore Me, taking you on a trip through one of our data “factory lines” that handles the traffic from Google Analytics 4. We’ll be showcasing functionality from Google BigQuery, Cloud Run Functions, Orchestrator, and Pub/Sub, and how they can work harmoniously together.
About the speaker
As a Senior BI Engineer for Adore Me, Diana’s main focus lies in modeling for all the varied business use-cases to ensure the stakeholders get the most out of their data. Using a wide skillset from engineering to analytics, she finds solutions to advanced data scenarios using cloud-based solutions.
