Cloud-native machine learning: Kubeflow success stories

Greetings cloud enthusiasts 👋

For our July 2022 meet-up, we have scheduled a panel discussion to talk about Kubeflow: The Machine Learning Toolkit for Kubernetes. We invited cloud-native specialist Harry Lee, machine learning manager Axel Tidemann and techie-turned-CEO Marko Salic to chat about their Kubeflow success story.

Gartner estimated that 85% of companies manage their hybrid and multi-cloud ML environments with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes). Cloud-native is the de facto for AI-native companies, but it can be difficult to select the best-of-breed tools for your organisation.

We selected our panel to cover the entire MLOps spectrum. From data & machine learning with Axel; DevOps and software engineering with Harry, and the union of business and technology with Marko. 👤 Panel:

Harry Lee: Harry is the co-founder &CTO of Melio AI, CNCF Ambassador and the event organiser of Cloud-Native Computing Johannesburg. Harry is a DevSecOps evangelist and is lovingly known for permeating the DevOps culture across the organisation. He specialises in deploying secure cloud-native applications that operationalise inefficient processes. He cannot stand any inefficiencies and will happily automate all your workflows.

Axel Tidemann:
Axel holds a PhD in machine learning from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2009). He has since been working with machine learning in different academic and industrial settings in Norway. In July 2020 he started working for Takealot as a machine learning manager to further advance the company's commitment towards machine learning.

Marko Salic:
Marko is CEO of the Argility Technology Group. He has over 20 years' of industry experience, from software development and architecture to business development, management and strategy. His passion lies in the focus on new technologies and next-generation innovative solutions that will take various cross-industry players to the next level. Coming from a strong technical background, Salic's expertise lies in understanding modern businesses' challenges and the best way to solve them by applying modern technology and innovation.
