Session 1: "An introduction to Helm: A better way to manage your Kubernetes applications" by Fabrizio Lazzaretti (Q_PERIOR)
In this talk, we will explore Helm 3, a graduated CNCF project, and its capabilities. We will show how to work with it, best practices, how to avoid common pitfalls, how you can publish your own charts, and how to integrate it into your development workflow. At the end, we also take a look at helmfile and how it can improve your helm and Kubernetes experience even more.
Fabrizio Lazzaretti is a business-oriented and motivated software engineer with over ten years of experience. He is an effective team player and leader in software development, architecture, and Scrum, with the ability to operate in fast-paced environments.
Session 2: "Cost monitoring on EKS with Kubecost" by Patrick Madec (AWS Switzerland)
AWS and Kubecost collaborated to offer a customized version of Kubecost at no additional charge on Amazon EKS. Learn how to use it to monitor your Kubernetes costs.
Patrick is an ISV solutions architect at AWS Switzerland. He helps Swiss companies to get the best benefits from the cloud technologies.
Session 3: "Technical Design and Operation of the Harbor Container Registry SaaS on AWS EKS" by Vadim Bauer (8gears)
The 8gears Container Registry is a Harbor-based CNCF graduated open-source container registry as a service offering that is operated by the project's maintainer and contributors. In this talk, Vadim will walk you through our journey on running our SaaS Stack on AWS EKS and other K8s offerings, how we manage deploy and operate our SaaS and our Kubernetes cluster fleet. Our good decisions, bad decisions and rework and adoption effort.
Vadim Bauer is a Container Silverback with over a decade of experience in running containers in production. As a maintainer of the CNCF project Harbor, he focuses on extending the boundaries of OCI artifact management, adoption, and developer experience.
