Talk 1: "Switch CNI to Cilium - Our journey" by Jan Müller, Senior System Engineer, and Norbert Gruszka, DevOps Engineer, Adfinis

Join us on our journey as we recount our team's migration from the outdated Container Network Interface (CNI) to the game-changing Cilium network solution. From the highs of successful configuration to the lows of unexpected failures, we share our rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Dive into the technical details with us and be inspired to take your own Kubernetes network to the next level!

Talk 2: "Cilium Service Mesh: A Game-Changer for High-Performance L7 Kubernetes Networking" by Raphaël Pinson, Senior Solution Architect, Isovalent

Cilium's service mesh is a game-changer for L7 networking in Kubernetes environments. Leveraging eBPF technology, Cilium provides fine-grained visibility and control over network traffic, enabling fast, secure, and scalable communication between services without the need for sidecars in pods. In this talk, we'll explore the power of Cilium's service mesh and its ability to unlock high-performance L7 networking in Kubernetes. We'll cover Cilium's L7 networking features, including L7 observability with Hubble, security and encryption with IPsec or WireGuard, North-South L7 routing with Ingress and Gateway API, East-West L7 routing with gRPC load-balancer, and Cluster Mesh for multi-tenancy.

Talk 3: "Leverage Argo Rollouts for Gitops-based application deployments with Service Mesh" by Michael Steinfurth, Red Hat

Running micro services in a productive environment can be tricky when you need to deploy different versions. Keeping backwards compatibility is challenging. For this, well-known deployment strategies are used in the container world and are implemented based on a Service Mesh. If you want to use Infrastructure as a Code to deploy your applications and environment, the Gitops approach is the “state of the art”. Argo Rollouts allows you to combine Service Mesh and Gitops to manage efficient and easy deployment of different application versions. We will demo such an implementation example during the session.
