Kubernetes is finishing Primary School. I can still remember its first steps šŸ˜. With this very special event, we want to celebrate 10 years of Kubernetes and all the things this brought to us. This Meetup will be co-hosted with Cloud Native Austria, the Vienna Platform Engineering Meetup and the Vienna DevOps Meetup. Thanks to Dynatrace for sponsoring and hosting this event as well as to Whizus for sponsoring this event's live stream and recording!

As always, this is the on-premises event. If you want to participate online, please use following link: https://community.cncf.io/j/gkywzh9ypt3bb/

Talk 1: Happy Birthday Kubernetes
In the last ten years, Kubernetes, Containers, and the Cloud Native Ecosystem changed the way we operate systems, and supports us in our daily life. In this session, friends of Kubernetes will tell their story and how Kubernetes changed their lives.
Speakers: TBA

Talk 2: Katharina Sick - Finding My Passion: Kubernetes, Community, and the Joy of Developer Experience
Like many developers, the world of deployments and CI/CD pipelines made me want to run for the hills. But then I stumbled into the Cloud Native world, and everything changed!
Even though I'm still relatively new to the game (about three years in), I've become hooked on how Kubernetes and its ecosystem empower platform engineers to make a significant impact on developer productivity and experience. In this talk, I'll share my journey and what keeps me excited about Kubernetes – the fantastic open source community, the incredible levels of collaboration, and how it's changing the way we think about software delivery.

Talk 3: Constanze Roedig - How Kubernetes Taught Me Confidence & Creativity
10 years ago I was afraid of making mistakes , today I’m not.
What changed? I started working with a technology that allows ephemeral environments, as realistic as I want them , as many as I want , at an affordable cost and most importantly: environments that can be wiped clean in seconds. When you work in financial accounting, creative experiments tend to get you fired not promoted.
So this talk tells the story of how the advent of Docker/ Kubernetes fundamentally changed an SAP IFRS17 implementation and taught us the right way of making mistakes.

Speakers
Katharina Sick - is passionate about creating user-friendly solutions with a focus on Cloud Native and Kubernetes. She has experience in mobile application and backend development, but in recent years, she has developed a keen interest in Cloud Native computing and continues to deepen her knowledge. Outside of work, Katharina enjoys being part of tech and sports communities, inline skating, traveling, and challenging herself by participating in quizzes and games.

Constanze Roedig - is enabling teams to work productively and securely across hybrid clouds. She is an Engineer, Scientist, Lecturer and passionate Public speaker. Constanze is also committed to independent cybersecurity research on free/open threat intelligence for CloudNative (co-creator of the K8s-Stormcenter), an open source maintainer and KCD organizer and teaching the ā€žHands-On Cloud Nativeā€œ lecture at participating Austrian universities in Summer Semester.
