Supercharge your Kubernetes Ingress (Viktor Gamov, Kong Inc)
Have you ever found yourself in a situation when all your services are running in Kubernetes, and now you need to expose them to the outside world securely and reliably? When services are exposed outside a Kubernetes cluster, you need to take care of authentication, observability, auditing, encryption and integrations with other third-party vendors, amongst other things. In this talk, Viktor Gamov will introduce the Kubernetes Ingress and how you can use it in your applications. He will then show you how to declaratively enable security, API rate limiting, add native gRPC support, and more!
Viktor Gamov is a Principal Developer Advocate at Kong, a cloud connectivity company for API & microservice management. He is a published author, Java champion, open source evangelist, podcaster, and conference speaker. You can find him speaking on distributed systems, streaming data, JVM, DevOps, and more. Follow him on Twitter at @gamussa.
New observability with OpenTelemetry & Distributed Traces (Dimitris Finas, Lightstep)
Lightstep, co-founder of OpenTelemetry, will present what are OpenTelemetry & Distributed Traces, what it changes in the world of Monitoring/Observability/Application Performance Management (APM), new capabilities and workflows it brings, and the benefits of this new approach, illustrated by customers examples.
Dimitris Finas is a senior technical advisor for Lightstep based out of EMEA south. Lightstep is a co-founder and contributor to the OpenTelemetry project. In a past life, Dimitris was a DevOps architect and agile project director. Dimitris is passionate about technology, early adopter (he owned a Palm Treo) and is eager to deliver the highest quality and business results through IT. He has previously spoken at Cloud Expo Europe, JBCN, CRIP Paris, and other tech events
Chaos Engineering Implementations Demystified (Jaap Brasser, Harness)
Chaos Engineering has been in use for a little bit of a decade now, so it is not a new paradigm by any measure. But now the Kubernetes is used more widely than ever before, the benefits that Chaos Engineering brings to the table can no longer be ignored. In this session we'll dive into some of the best practices of successful testing approaches using the CNCF project, LitmusChaos that has been created to proactively identify weaknesses and improve overall resilience of your cloud-native environment. Join us to learn more about this exciting technology and how to implement and use it most effectively!
Jaap Brasser is a Senior Developer Advocate at Harness, and he has a big passion for the cloud, scripting, CI/CD & automation and whenever he is not writing his next script or module, he spends his time fiddling around with APIs. Twitter: jaap_brasser GitHub: jaapbrasser
