Policy as Code: A Game-changer for Stack Security (Raz Cohen, Permit.io)
In today's fast-paced world of software development, building a product might be straightforward, but ensuring its security is a distinct challenge. Dive into the world of "Policy as Code" and uncover the transformative power of integrating an authorization layer directly into your codebase. From highlighting the significance of security (with a nod to the OWASP Top Ten) to delving into the nuances of access control models like ABAC, RBAC, and REBAC, this talk offers a comprehensive look at the landscape of policy-driven security. Furthermore, attendees will gain insights into the capabilities and distinctions of leading policy engines, including OPA, Cedar, and OpenFGA. In our modern era of application development, policies aren't just a choice—they are a mandate. Discover how you can seamlessly embed them into your workflow and bolster your stack's security. Join us and elevate your security game to the next level!

My professional journey began in the 8200 unit of the IDF's Intelligence Corps, setting the stage for my roles at industry leaders like [Logz.io](http://logz.io/) and Doubleverify and now at [Permit.io](http://permit.io/). Outside the tech sphere, I'm an enthusiastic wave surfer and traveler, always eager to explore new cultures and savor unique cuisines. My curiosity knows no bounds, and I dream of one day blending my love for technology and food by opening my own restaurant - after revolutionize the tech world. I'm all about innovation, passion, and excellence.

Kubernetes ValidatingAdmissionPolicies and Kyverno (Mariam Fahmy, Nirmata)
This talk is about introducing Kubernetes Validating Admission Policies and how it is supported by Kyverno.

Mariam Fahmy is a Software Engineer at Nirmata, working on Golang and Kubernetes. I'm an active contributor for Kyverno, a policy management for Kubernetes.

Kubernetes Policy Enforcement: Avoiding Chaos and Embracing Zen (Cortney Nickerson, Kubeshop)
In the K8s world, we're all looking for the same result, deployments that are continuous, scalable, secure, and successful. In this talk, we'll look at how policies have been used to do this in the past, why they don't always work, and new approaches and tooling to help achieve deployment success.

Cortney is a Developer Advocate at Kubeshop where she spends most of her time talking about and advocating for Monokle, an open source project that helps configure and deploy Kubernetes applications. Cortney spent years working in an array of industries before falling into tech. She began learning about K8s by volunteering to write the newsletter for the Data on Kubernetes Community and hasn't stopped learning since. When not talking about Monokle, you can find her sharing random facts for no reason, speaking about DEI and her own struggles with imposter syndrome, and trying to wrestle her kids into bed at a reasonable hour.
