Talk: Solving Major Cloud Production Challenges
Kieran Kunhya - Open Broadcast Systems
There are still a lot of unsolved technical problems in order to achieve multivendor cloud production. The VSF Ground-Cloud-Cloud-Ground (GCCG) Working Group is aiming to build on the work of solutions such as Amazon CDI and provide a multivendor way of exchanging uncompressed content in the cloud and providing a timing model such that it can be reconciled with existing ground technologies such as SDI, MPEGTS and 2110. Kieran will explain why and how one of the last major technical challenges in broadcasting (in his opinion!) is being solved.
Talk: We Think You'll Like...
Chris Birkinshaw, Merapar
From "Because You Watched..." to "Recommended for You", every streaming platform has some sort of recommendation engine. Chris will explore the details of a Serverless implementation of this feature that she worked on for a major streaming service.
