TALKS
18:05 - 18:30 Talk 1 + Q&A: Marcin Gw贸藕d藕, Disaster Recovery for your truly open-source MongoDB alternative in the Kubernetes environment - FerretDB + Elotl馃挕

You will learn why we decided to build FerretDB, how it works, why we chose PostgreSQL as a main backend, and the advantages of using open-source software.

However, running a database without a disaster recovery process can result in a loss of business continuity, revenue loss, and reduced company credibility. We will show you how to secure your data stored via FerretDB using Elotl Nova.

18:35 - 19:00 Talk 2 + Q&A: William Rizzo, Kubernetes: Automatic Edge Provisioning馃挕
Edge Computing represents a paradigm shift in data processing, by bringing computation closer to data sources, optimizing latency and bandwidth use. This shift is crucial for real-time applications in IoT and smart cities but introduces significant challenges. Key among these are integrating diverse networks, securing decentralized environments, and optimizing resources in constrained settings. Provisioning workloads at the edge requires innovative strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, and agility. This presentation will dive into edge computing's technical hurdles and strategies for managing and provisioning Kubernetes and workloads at the edge, effectively. Attendees will be introduced to overcoming barriers to efficient edge deployment through a captivating live demo of edge provisioning.
