Cloud Native PDX: Metrics, Microservices & Mingle

Details
Come out and join us to network with local cloud native peers.
Agenda:
5:00pm to 5:30pm – Pizza and Networking! Food sponsored by Mezmo
5:45pm - Streamlining Telemetry Data: Building a Telemetry Pipeline to Handle High-Cardinality Metrics by Chelsea Wright @ Mezmo
As global data generation accelerates towards 200 zettabytes, traditional telemetry strategies are no longer sustainable. In this session, Chelsea Wright of Mezmo explores how to build intelligent, self-configuring telemetry systems. We'll dive into leveraging edge transformations, AI-driven parsing, and multi-destination routing to convert fragmented, high-volume data into real-time, actionable insights. Discover how to unify your data across logging platforms, security tools, BI dashboards, and every critical platform in your stack.
6:15pm - Developing Kubernetes Apps with Podman Desktop by Josh Berkus
These days we all spend a lot of time developing for Kubernetes. Wouldn't it be great if you could develop and test your containerized application from an easy-to-use desktop application, and not need to touch Kubernetes clusters until you're ready for staging? With Podman Desktop, you can!
In this mostly-demo presentation, we will go over the workflow of a containerized application developer working on a simple application (the open source project Elekto), making changes, running local tests, and finally deploying to a Kubernetes cluster. No previous knowledge of Kubernetes is required.
6:45pm to 8:00pm – Networking and Board games!
None of this would be possible without our amazing sponsors:
