"Your organization has embraced OpenTelemetry, but how do you ensure the telemetry data powering your dashboards and alerts is actually useful? Inconsistent, incomplete, or incorrect instrumentation leads to the classic "garbage in, garbage out" problem, rendering your observability platform ineffective when you need it most. Simply having telemetry isn't enough, we need a way to measure and enforce its quality. I will show common instrumentation pitfalls, such as missing service.name attributes, broken context propagation, and discouraged metrics attributes, and show how to fix them. You'll leave this session with an actionable framework to move beyond ad-hoc fixes and level up your organization's observability maturity."
