Vadim Tkachenko co-founded Percona 12 years ago and has forgotten more about database architecture than most of us have ever learned. Not only is he an expert in MySQL, but he is also the principal advisor for Altinity, the first and leading service provider for ClickHouse.

ClickHouse is an open-source column-store analytic DBMS - the cutting-edge technology for managing and analyzing extremely large volumes of data. We've been testing it out at Nozzle and it compares very favorably to BigQuery.
