What if you could send text messages, share locations, or gather sensor data—without relying on Wi-Fi, cell towers, or the internet? Meshtastic is an open-source project that transforms affordable LoRa radios into a decentralized mesh communication network. In this session, we’ll explore how Meshtastic works, real-world use cases (from disaster response to conferences like DEFCON), and how you can get started. This talk will provide a hands-on look at the growing Meshtastic ecosystem, including a local Northeast Ohio community that you can join today.
