KubeCon EU 2023 Panel - Community Edition

Details

Hello,

fresh on the heels of this week's event we are trying something new. Again in collaboration with https://www.meetup.com/amsterdam-secure-software-development-meetup/

A panel discussion with thought leaders in Cloud Native Security. We will combine this with a little after party for the KubeCon at the RAI, only 5 minutes walking from our location.

Our very own Ashish will moderate the discussion with the following panelists:

Matt Jarvis (Director Developer Relations, Snyk),
Kerim Satirli (Hashicorp)
and
Andrew Martin (CEO, Control Plane)

Schedule

17:30 Doors open
18:00 Panel Discussion
18:30 Chats, tapas and drinks
21:00 Closing doors

Andrew Martin
Andrew has an incisive security engineering ethos gained building and destroying high-traffic web applications. Proficient in systems development, testing, and operations, he is comfortable profiling and securing every tier of a bare metal or cloud native system, and has battle-hardened experience delivering containerised solutions to enterprise and government. He is a co-founder at ControlPlane.
Andrew has presented at international conferences including KubeCon, Velocity, SANS, OWASP, DevOpsDays, Container Camp, IPExpo, and numerous other local events and meetups.

Kerim Satirli
Kerim is a senior developer advocate at HashiCorp, where he focuses on coaching operators and developers on sustainable practices around infrastructure workflows. He enjoys the challenge of codifying the fragile bits of complex systems but is also excited to no longer be on-call, all the time. Before he joined HashiCorp, Kerim worked at organizations ranging from aviation hubs and government services to cultural institutions.

Matt Jarvis
Matt Jarvis is a Director of Developer Relations at Snyk. Matt has spent more than 15 years building products and services around open source software, on everything from embedded devices to large scale distributed systems.
Over the last decade, Matt has worked in the cloud and cloud native spaces from OpenStack, Mesos and now to Kubernetes, and now spends most of his time thinking about security.
Matt is a regular speaker at conferences across the world, including KubeCon, DockerCon, FOSDEM and All Things Open, a past winner of the OpenStack Outstanding Community Contributor award, and in 2021 was named one of the Top 100 influencers in Open Technologies in the UK. Matt is also a board director of OpenUK, a CNCF Ambassador and the co-founder of Cloud Native Manchester, Cloud Native Edinburgh, Kubernetes Community Days UK and the virtual Cloud Natives UK.
