We have two speakers this month!

First up will be Anton Aleksandrov on Cracking the Enigma Machine, and rebuilding with Serverless.

Warning! This session is for true serverless and security geeks only! In this session you will take a journey through the history of the Enigma Machine, which was considered an unbreakable encryption device in its time. We will visually reverse-engineer the Enigma Machine component-by-component and learn all the intricacies of its operation. We’ll brainstorm how you would implement each component of the Enigma Machine with serverless technologies. We’ll wrap up with a live interactive demo of a fully functioning Serverless Enigma Machine.

Then we will have Engin Diri on Self-service infrastructure with Backstage and Pulumi.

Backstage, an open-source Internal Developer Portal and part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) project landscape like Kubernetes, is on the way to be the one-stop shop for all the technical and operational information of an organization. From a comprehensive service catalog that displays ownership and dependencies of the services and components inside your organization, to a hosting platform for technical documentation, and software templates that provide the ideal path to software delivery, Backstage becomes a valuable asset for organizations to bridge the gap of technical and organizational silos.

Combining this with Pulumi, an open-source infrastructure as code (IaC) tool that enables secure and compliant infrastructure provisioning, you’ve got a formidable duo that’ll help you get your software out the door faster.

This talk will take you through the process of configuring Backstage and Pulumi, and define software templates that allow your teams to deploy infrastructure on Amazon Web Services by taking advantage of all the features offered by Backstage and Pulumi.
