Details
Hey CloudGurus!
-----
Unfortunately Hashicorp had to re-schedule.
** Rescheduled to March 24th**
Hope you all will still be able to come!

New meetup Alert! We have an interesting session coming up with our friends from Hashicorp. We will be covering Zero-trust in a multi-cloud landscape and what better way to achieve this than making use of the fantastic applications provided by Hashicorp. Hashicorp is truely a leader in the Cloud operations space and we are happy to have them with us!
The agenda for today is as follows:
- 16:00 Welcome
- 16:10 The business value of zero-trust
- The transition from traditional on-premises datacenters and environments to dynamic, cloud infrastructure is complex and introduces new challenges for enterprise security. There are more systems to manage, more endpoints to monitor, more networks to connect, and more people that need access. The potential for a breach increases significantly, and it is only a matter of time without the right security posture.
Securing traditional datacenters required managing and securing an IPbased perimeter with networks and firewalls, HSMs, SIEM, and other physical access restrictions. But those same solutions are no longer sufficient as companies move to cloud.
Securing infrastructure in the cloud requires a different approach.
Because of the highly dynamic environment, organizations talk about a “zero trust” approach to cloud security.
What does “zero trust” actually mean and what’s required for you to make it successful? - 16:50 Break
- 17:00 Break-out 1: Beginners workshop
- This workshop is designed to provide a foundational understanding of Consul Enterprise.
Specifically regarding:
Consul Enterprise Architecture
Consul Enterprise Primary Use-Cases
1. Consul Basics - Installing and configuring consul
2. Service Discovery
3. Service Mesh With Consul
- 17:00 Break-out 2: Advanced workshop: Network Infrastructure Automation
- Objective: Participants will implement Network Infrastructure Automation (NIA). The objective of this workshop is twofold: First, participants will automate network infrastructure provisioning (Day 0/1) tasks. Second, they will get hands-on experience automating Day 2 operations – updating load-balancing pools, and firewall address groups – no slideware or vaporware led rhetoric in this simulation. We’ll start with deploying the infrastructure and services, and end with automated infrastructure reconfiguration to meet dynamic scaling requirements.
1. Provision and configure the Application, Service Discovery, and Network Infrastructure resources
2. Review app resources in their unavailable statue due to lack of application state existing in the Firewall and Load-balancer configurations
3. Deploy Consul Terraform Sync and configure it to auto-manage the application state transfer from Consul’s service catalog to the Firewall and Load-balancer – automated Day 2 operations
- 17:50 Closing
- 18:00 Meetup end
As you can see we have something for everyone. Newbies, beginners and advanced professionals will all have the ability to learn.
Stay tuned for more information regarding the beginner and advanced topics!
Hope to see you all on March 17th!
Best regards!
