OpenMIC – An Experiment in Open and Sustainable Machine Learning Research

In this Meetup, Eric J. Humphrey (Spotify NYC) will be speaking about OpenMIC, an ongoing open-source research project with the goal of developing a webscale dataset of music and instrument labels in the style of ImageNet through an iterative competition. This talk will cover the motivation behind the effort, theory behind the approach, progress to date, and take a look at what's next.
