There are ways of understanding both the world and the mind which can decrease stress, frustration and confusion while also connecting us to an appreciative experience of life.
In this series of long-form classes, we clarify the foundations of Buddhist thought, starting with early Buddhism and following the evolution of teaching and practice through the mahayana schools and culminating in an explanation of the unique teachings of Zen.
The intention of this series is to offer practitioners a deeper understanding of the ideas which underpin Buddhist practice, making available a more subtle and nuanced interpretation of practice experiences.
Online registration ends 1/1/26. If you would like to register after that date, email koji@cloudsinwater.org.

Half-Day Retreat: Here is the Place, Here the Way Unfolds
Clouds In Water Zen Center, 445 N Farrington St, St Paul, MN, USIn-person only
Saturday, February 14, 9 am - 1 pm
By donation: $5 - $155
No one turned away for lack of fundsWith Rev. Jinzu Minna Jain
Join us this Valentine’s Day for a supportive morning of Zen meditation, chanting, tea, and a tiny Dharma talk. Basically, a mini retreat–the perfect way to care for yourself and all beings!
This is a good retreat for beginners and seasoned practitioners, alike. If you’ve been wanting to try a Zen meditation retreat, if your schedule doesn’t allow for a full retreat, or if you could use a pause in your busy life, please come.
Our entryway into Zen teachings for this half-day retreat is the Genjo Koan. Poetic, enigmatic, at turns strange-seeming, it’s a perfect example of Zen liturgy and literature.
