I created a Hadoop cluster and submitted my first few jobs. Now what? How do I debug and optimize them? How do I become more productive? How do I monitor my jobs? Come to this session to learn more about the technologies and tools in Azure to make using Hadoop in the cloud easy and productive. We will talk about the different debugging tools that HDInsight provides including Yarn UI, Tez UI and Ambari. We will discuss how web authoring tools like Ambari views makes writing and debugging Hive and Pigs jobs a breeze. We will also learn how to automate and programmatically interact with HDInsight using Azure Data Factory and HDInsight SDK. Finally, we will discuss how to monitor your jobs in the HDInsight cluster. Speaker: Rashim Gupta - Product Manager - Big Data on Microsoft Azure

Rashim Gupta is a Senior Program Manager in the Big Data team at Microsoft for the past 3 years. During his time in the Big Data team he worked on many Big Data technologies including Cosmos and HDInsight (Hive, MapReduce, Sqoop and Oozie). He is a big customer advocate and uses data insights and customer conversations to improve the product. Before working at Microsoft, Rashim was a Product Manager at Digital Chocolate where he worked on multiple Facebook games including Zombie Lane and Millionaire City. He has also worked with many startups including Magnetic (Ads), Comixology (e-comic books retailer), Sandlot (gaming), Live Gamer (gaming). He started his career as a software engineer at Qualcomm in San Diego where he was working on QChat - Push to Talk technology for Sprint/Nextel.
