Rejoignez-nous pour notre Club de Lecture du mois d'avril, consacré au roman Jacaranda de Gaël Faye, sélectionné pour le Prix Goncourt 2024.
Cet événement est organisé en partenariat avec l’Institut français du Canada et le Département de Français de l'Université d'Ottawa. Le comité de lecture du Choix Goncourt Canada de l'Université d'Ottawa prendra part à la discussion et partagera ses réflexions sur l'œuvre.
Résumé :
Dans un pays d’Afrique centrale, un vieil homme revient sur son passé et l’histoire de sa famille, marquée par l’exil, les blessures de la guerre et les espoirs d’une jeunesse avide de liberté. Entre souvenirs et réalités, Jacaranda est un roman bouleversant sur l’identité, la mémoire et la transmission, porté par la plume poétique de Gaël Faye.

Join us for our April Book Club, devoted to Gaël Faye's novel Jacaranda, shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt 2024.
This event is organized in partnership with the Institut français du Canada and the University of Ottawa's French Department. The University of Ottawa's Choix Goncourt Canada reading committee will take part in the discussion and share their thoughts on the work.
Summary:
In a Central African country, an old man looks back on his past and the history of his family, marked by exile, the wounds of war and the hopes of a youth eager for freedom. Between memories and realities, Jacaranda is a moving novel about identity, memory and transmission, carried by Gaël Faye's poetic pen.
