Hola amigos!

Seeing as this month's After Office also falls on a public holiday and the fringe festival is kicking off the following week, we thought "¿por qué no los dos?"

Our friends in the Latin community are putting on a show called EL COLIBRÍ and it opens on Feb 13. How convenient!

The plan

Meet at Bats at 6pm for a drink before we head in to see EL COLIBRÍ at 7pm.

Afterwards, we can stay for one more to discuss the show (in Spanish or English!). If you don't want to attend the show, feel free to come before or after.

Buy your tickets here: https://tickets.fringe.co.nz/event/446:8200/

(Please note that this show is part of the Fringe Festival and not run by Club Latino)

About the Show

EL COLIBRÍ - A new theatre show created by 2025 New Zealand Drama School, Elia Correa.

EL COLBRÍ is the story of three sisters reuniting at their Abuelito's (Grandfather's) home in Puerto Rico. What is supposed to be a happy family gathering quickly makes way for btchy jokes, old narratives and festering wounds as the sisters explore their relationship with language, culture and each other.

It looks at the magic of childhood and the memories that hold us together when everything around us is falling apart. It asks the questions: What is home and how does blood tie us together?

If you can't make the show on Friday, it's also showing on Saturday and Sunday.

Listen to the interview with the cast from Radio Que Onda on Mix Cloud.
