As of now, the proposed date is 12 days between July 20 to August 10. I don't have any confirmed trekking partner till now, but I am in touch with at least 5 person, who are interested in the trek. Ideally, I will try to make a team of 5-6 people, 3 at the least. The total cost is about 12k from Delhi on cost-sharing basis. Please be informed that this trek requires a prior trekking experiences at the High Altitude of the Himalayas. Since the highest point is around 17000 feet in this trek, prior experience and good physical fitness is advisable for this trek. If anybody interested, please revert back to me. We can meet and plan the detailed itinerary and the logistics.
A friend and I are taking a long roadtrip starting Delhi to Ladakh and returning via Lahaul and Spiti. Dates are being finalised, but will probably be in August. The meetup date will be announced shortly depending on interest and RSVPs. About the trip :- This is a long roadtrip and is tailored for opportunities to take in history, camping, angling, trekking and other outdoors pursuits, natural spa treatments and lots of photography! Detailed itinerary is below. It may see some change depending on participant interest. It is structured so that people can choose to come along for the whole trip or only some segments. Trip itinerary with overnight waypoints/bases is :- 1. Start from Delhi Punjab leg :- 2. Patiala (history - take in Nabha, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib) Himachal Leg, while going :- 3. Tatapani (nature spa and hot sulphur springs on banks of Sutlej) via Sirhind 4. Gushaini (for angling) via Sainj - Banjar - Aut road 5. Kasol (for hot water springs at Manikaran) 6. Manali (no need to elaborate) 7. Jispa (break to acclimatise for high altitude) Ladakh range :- 8. Leh (2 more days to acclimatise to high altitude) 9. Dah & Hanoo (claimed to be pure Aryan villages) Zanskar leg :- 10. Zanskar 11. Padum Kargil leg :- 12. Kargil - Lamayuru 13. Leh Nubra Valley leg :- 14. Turtuk 15. Hunder (2 nights to take in Diskit - Sumur - hot water springs of Panamik) Changthang sector in Karakoram range (this a bird and wildlife photographer's paradise) :- 16. Pangong Tso (We travel along Shyok river and reach Pangong Tso through Durbuk in the Karakoram range, without crossing Chang La) 17. Overnight at Spangmik/Merak 18.
