Hi, fellow Space Enthusiast,

Long time no see. We are bringing excellent news – the NASA Space Apps Challenge is back! We invite you to join us once again on this exciting journey, taking place on the 7th and 8th of October 2023.

🚀 What is NASA International Space Apps Challenge?
Space Apps is a global weekend hackathon, engaging tens of thousands of problem solvers each year across the globe. The event embraces collaborative problem-solving with the goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to address global needs applicable to both life on Earth and life in space.

🚀 Who can participate in the hackathon?
Space Apps is for everyone! This includes those who have never “hacked’ before! All passionate problem solvers are encouraged to join - students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, and storytellers. While some of our challenges are technical, others ask you to use your artistic skills, your business acumen, and your historical imagination! In other words, you do not need to be a coder or data expert to be part of Space Apps. In fact, the most diverse teams are often the most successful.

We encourage you to invite your friends along! Typical Space Apps teams have 2-6 participants (the limit is 6 members per team).

🔴 The event is free and open to the public.
You will work together over the weekend to develop an innovative solution to your challenge (be it a website, a mobile app, a concept or a hardware prototype). Your team will submit the solution to a jury of experts. The best solutions will then compete on a global level!

This year, our theme is Explore Open Science Together and you can already check out the 31 brand new challenges we prepared for you. You can pick the one that awakens your interest the most and also find a suitable difficulty level.

We've got some exciting surprises in store for our local-level participants as well, for an entirely galactic experience, so get ready.

If you're not from one of these cities but want to join, you can choose any virtual event from Romania.

Don’t forget that two winning teams from each city will qualify for the global stage, competing with over 3,000 teams from all over the world!
