Welcome to Classical Musicians of Metro DC (CM-MDC)! We work a little differently than other groups on Meetup, so please take a moment to read this brief introduction before joining.
WHO WE ARE
CM-MDC is a network of amateur and semi-professional adult classical musicians in the DC Metropolitan Area seeking casual, collegial opportunities for musical fellowship. Since its founding on Meetup in 2007, CM-MDC has helped thousands of musicians stay active in collaborative music-making by sponsoring and facilitating hundreds of events from home-hosted chamber music get-togethers to professional-quality public concerts. It has also spawned an advanced chamber music program, DC Chamber Musicians (DCCM), that stages five concerts per season, as well as an orchestral program, DC Concert Orchestra (DCCO), which performs three full orchestra concerts per season. All three programs were incorporated in 2015 as the DC Concert Orchestra Society (DCCOS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. To learn more, visit www.dccos.org.
WHAT WE OFFER
As a member of CM-MDC, you will receive:

- Professional support organizing home-hosted Meetups
- Recommendations for private chamber music coaches
- Reduced-rate rehearsal rooms
- Discounted registration fees and tickets to select DCCOS events
Among the events that DCCOS organizes/sponsors are:
- Quarterly Play-Ins
- Semi-Regular Open-Mic Nights
- Occasional Happy Hours / Social Events
- Annual All-Program Picnic
HOW TO JOIN
- Complete the CM-MDC New Member Form
- Pay your CM-MDC Dues (currently $15/year)
- Request to join the Meetup Group
If you do not complete ALL THREE steps, your join request will be denied.
REGISTERING FOR EVENTS
All event registrations are processed through our Member Website, NOT Meetup. When you join, you will receive access to the CM-MDC Homepage on our Member Website, which is regularly updated with new opportunities. These events will also be cross-posted on Meetup, however, YOU MUST REGISTER VIA THE MEMBER WEBSITE. If you try to RSVP through Meetup, you will be told the event is closed. Click the link in the event description to be redirected to our Member Website.
