What is it?

An intense 24 hour session in which teams of like-minded individuals share ideas, work together and make way to building a start-up

Who is it for?

Start-up enthusiasts, developers, designers, marketers, managers or just about anyone with a idea for a good product or business. You can join the event as a developer, designer, marketer or all rounder. At the end if your idea is good we can help you get funded!

How does it work?

Applications are called right now (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1gIxtM6aTcKTLYZ4QfTtpJviL9eJZ9qTaVmPVt-cj-Tc/viewform). You come with a team (or by yourself) and an idea that you want to turn into a start-up. If you are looking to join a team or is looking for an idea, you may meet some like minded people that you can team up with at the event as well.

You will have guidance with industry leaders and mentors to help transform your ideas into a prototype and a pitch in 24 hours. We'll provide everything in between, from places to nap to food, internet and the rest.

Friday evening, as the event starts, everyone will get a chance to pitch their ideas with their teams. Pitched ideas will be selected based on votes. Selected ideas will be developed into viable products/businesses overnight. Saturday afternoon, teams will pitch once again to be evaluated by a pool of industry leaders and investors.

What should I bring?

Your idea and best pitching voice. You will need to bring with you everything you require to make your idea work. You will need to bring a computer (laptop or tablet) and software that you will require to full-fill your role and be a part of a team. Internet, power and meals will be provided, however carrying an Internet dongle is encouraged.

Make sure your team is right for the job. Your team should have all the skills you need to pull you through the weekend and prepare for the final pitch.

Why should I attend?

Because its just exciting and fun! :) You also stand a chance to get funded! This will enable you in validating your ideas among start-up enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and tech investors in the country. Most of all it would be a event of actually doing things rather than talking. It is guaranteed that you will learn more in one weekend than you would in a month. So waiting won't help, go ahead and apply immediately!

Moreover the winners of the final pitch will be automatically selected for Venture Engine (http://www.ventureengine.lk/) this year along with other goodies and prizes!
