Unmasking in a new time zone. Many neurodivergent expats experience a quiet shift when moving abroad: the usual social rules change, and suddenly, your "weirdness" either disappears into the background noise of being a 'farang', or becomes impossible to ignore.

This week, we'll explore how family relationships shape our understanding of ourselves—from childhood labels and expectations to masking, boundaries, and discovering that maybe you weren't the only neurodivergent person in the family after all.

Family Dynamics | Being the "Different One"

Many of us ND grow up feeling like they don't quite fit in with their own family. Maybe you were called "too much," "too sensitive," "lazy," "gifted but inconsistent," or simply felt misunderstood without knowing why.

This is a supportive, judgment-free discussion where you're welcome to share your experiences, listen to others, or hopefully both. Whether your family has been a source of strength, struggle, or something in between, you're invited to join us for an evening of honest conversation and connection.

Who is this for?

  • Neurodivergent individuals: ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory processing differences (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified, or just starting to figure it out).
  • Allies: The friends, partners, and colleagues who love or work alongside us.

Who is this NOT for?

  • Networkers and Marketers: If you are coming to promote your business, hand out business cards, or find new clients, this isn't the room for you.
  • "Gurus" and Opportunists: This is a peer-to-peer community space. It is not a captive audience for life coaches, wellness influencers, or anyone pitching unsolicited advice, "cures," or paid programs.

What to expect:

  • Real Talk, Not Therapy: This isn't a clinical support group, just a genuine community connection.
  • Low Pressure: We keep things small and conversational.
  • Zero Masking Required: There is absolutely no pressure to perform, disclose more than you want to, or have your life figured out. Come exactly as you are.
