Matthew Knell is a web technologist, marketer and community evangelist with a long history designing, developing, and marketing a wide array of successful products and brands including About.com (http://www.about.com/), JetBlue Airways (http://www.jetblue.com/), MTV Networks (http://www.mtvnetworks.com/) and CafeMom (http://www.cafemom.com/). He is the Social Media Marketing Director at AOL (http://www.aol.com/) and teaches Social Media and Web Marketing at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (http://scps.nyu.edu/). Matthew will give his perspective on how community management can fit into marketing. He'll also talk about the role of content creation and distribution as well as empowering internal communities and employees.

7:50-8:20pm: Realtime Analytics chat with bitly's Matt LeMay.

Led by: Dave Brown, Etsy

Matt is the platform manager at bitly (http://bit.ly/), where he works with publishers and marketers to get the most out of bitly's API. He will be discussing the power of bitly's realtime analytics in developing a flexible and actionable cross-platform social media strategy. Matt is also senior contributor to music website Pitchfork (http://pitchfork.com/), and author of a book about singer-songwriter Elliott Smith.
