Welcome to the home of CNCF in Tel Aviv! The Cloud Native Compute Foundation (CNCF) is the parent organization behind Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Envoy and other open source projects that make up the modern cloud stack.
We meet once a month to learn, share and discuss the latest in cloud computing, operations and architecture. Please - get in touch with us! Tell us what you think, what you want or don't want, and step up to present at a meetup (we'll take care of all the logistics)
18:00-18:30: Mingling, food and drinks, sponsored by Aqua Security
18:30-19:15: Kubernetes native messaging for microservices with KubeMQ, Lior Nabat
In this session we will discuss why messaging patterns are essential in microservices architectures, and what are the advantages of Kubernetes native messaging system over the classical solutions such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. We will present KubeMQ, our enterprise-grade message queue for microservices which is native to Kubernetes and Docker.
19:15-20:00: Testing with production traffic, Ido Cohen
Tests are the backbone of the software we develop but our tests can only be as good as the cases that they check. Identifying all the possible scenarios and test cases can be an impossible task, so focusing your tests on real-world user scenarios is a useful tactic to achieve quality tests.
In this session, we will explore basic concepts such as contract vs case-based testing, regression vs progression testing, and the holy grail of shadow testing. We will look at the tools used to implement these concepts - Pact, GoReplay, and Loadmill.
Lior Nabat is KubeMQ’s technology leader and product architect. As a serial technology entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in software ventures and product development, he brings could native expertise and hands-on experience. Lior founded Tradency (financial trading technology) 14 years ago and lead as the CEO since inception. Previously he held key management positions at DSPG (Chip Design), Alpha Cell (Mobile) and TdSoft (Telecom). Lior holds B.A in Mathematics and Computer science from the Open University in Tel-Aviv Israel and AMP from University of Pennsylvania-The Wharton School.
Ido Cohen is the Co-founder and CEO of Loadmill, delivering the chaos of the Internet into your test environment.
