A slow, quiet birding hike on the newly constructed/remediated portion of the North Country National Scenic Trail in Pixley Falls State Park. This park is located on Rt 46, 16 miles north of Delta Lake SP (outside Rome, NY) and 10 miles south of Boonville. We’ll hike through open areas, forested areas, next to the falls and a shallow trout stream, and alongside some small cascading creeks on the hillside. These varied habitats provide good opportunities to hear/see several species of thrushes, warblers, vireos, flycatchers, and others.
Distance: approx. 1.5 miles
Rating: Moderate difficulty (some uphill climbs and steps)
Meeting time and place: 9:00 am, front parking area, Pixley Falls State Park
