Erie Canal - Pathways of Resistance Walking Tour

Details

Join your fellow Talls in exploring our Central New York/Syracuse heritage by participation in the Erie Canal Museum's 2025 Summer Walking Tour event on August 2, 2025.

This tour examines African-American experiences on and along the banks of the Erie Canal, from the waterway's beginnings to contemporary times.

This tour begins in the lobby of the Erie Canal Museum and includes about a half mile of walking.

The museum is located at 318 Erie Blvd E., Syracuse, NY 13202

The tour starts at 10:30 so please show up a bit early to park and check in. The maps show free parking behind the museum on weekends.

The cost is a $12 donation. You can buy advanced tickets (recommended) at: eriecanalmuseum.org/

Maybe we can find a local lunch spot after the walk.
