Do you like to think about issues, big and small, and local? Do you like to be educated, inspired, and motivated or even amused and entertained?

All of these can happen at the Ennis Rotary Speakers Forum. Set your reminders for Friday night, 28 February, 7:30 P.M. at the Woodstock Hotel for the first of a series of evenings modelled after TED Talks©. There will be 4 speakers limited to under 20 min. each on a variety of subjects. Each subject meant to respond to a problem we all face. Most supported with multimedia presentations.

The event is sponsored by the Ennis Rotary Club as part of their program to raise awareness of community issues. Admission is free; donations may be made to our two charity partners: Clare Youth Services and Rotary Foundation which is best known for its drive to eliminate polio from our planet.

New Direction for Ennis Rotary Club

As it approaches its 40th Anniversary this May the Ennis Rotary Club is striking out in a new direction by sponsoring a Speakers Forum. This will be a series of public events modelled after the popular TED Talks© in which there will be 4 or 5 presentations each limited to under 20 min. Subject matter will vary greatly but each required to address a common problem in our community.

The inaugural Ennis Rotary Club Speakers Forum will be held Friday, 28 February at the Woodstock Hotel, 7:30 P.M. No admission charge. Speakers include Stuart Holly, Editor of The Clare Echo talking about survival of print media in this digital age; Andrew Cremin, Property Evaluator speaking about finding time to volunteer, is it worthwhile. Patrick Hynes, award-winning speaker and occupational therapist on “The bottom fell out of the market” & the Ennis Chamber about adapting to change in the retail environment.

Everyone is welcome. Expect to be educated, inspired, and motivated as well as amused and entertained. Michael Shepherd, Ennis Rotary President said, “I anticipate lively discussions during the intervals, so come on out for some inspiring craic.” Refreshments available.
