What we’re about
MY STORY: Hi. My name is Gurleen. This year, I’ve found myself cosmically pulled to the craft of weaving and thread work. I’ve taken day-long classes, multi-week classes, gone to co-working craft events, but something has felt missing.
All these experiences require learning a skill, growing an idea, and then executing—on an individual level basis. For me, what feels missing is the joy of collaborating, the process of communing across ideas and strategy to create something for a single purpose. The merging and emerging of possibilities that follows.
THE DREAM: I’ve always found there to be something very romantic about the idea of, across cultures, generations of people sitting in a circle crafting together. Perhaps weaving rugs or baskets for a home, embroidering a shawl for a wedding, carving bowls for a new family’s kitchen.
THE INVITE: Join me for this experimental session to explore the possibility of exchanging skills and creating art together. Maybe with thread. Maybe with paint. Maybe with fabric. Maybe you have a vision that needs people, maybe a vision emerges.
