CPS Meeting - "CREATING YOUR OWN VISUAL LANGUAGE by Robin Davis"

You are invited to the CPS zoom presentation on March 16, 2026, at 7:00PM. This month’s presentation will be a different version of our standard format.

Our presenter this month is Robin Davis. Robin has previously shared with us some of her insights and practices on photography. Her presentation this time will consist of 2 sessions. The first on March 16th will be the presentation titled:
CREATING A SERIES OF IMAGES THAT FIT TOGETHER…..CREATING YOUR OWN VISUAL LANGUAGE
During this session and after some direction Robin will give the audience some photo challenges. She will suggest that the club members go out and follow her suggestions on creating a series of images and combining them as she suggests.

This done, Robin has agreed to come back on June 15th and go through some of the club members challenge results and make her comments and thoughts on the members’ attempts at creating their own visual language.
What holds a series together? When you combine 4 elements in your work beyond your subject alone … Voilà ! You have your own visual language.
Robin reveals these 4 elements in her presentation with techniques for creating your own series, and will show many diverse examples from her own work.
The conclusion will be a fun and inspiring exercise for you to pick and apply the 4 elements to your chosen subject to define and create your own series. A worksheet guideline for her 3 Image Challenge will be provided to anyone who would like to participate.

The exercise is optional and not required to attend the Image Review session on June 15th.
