Hi there!
Let’s continue with South Korean author Han Kang and read ‘Human acts’ before moving to the next nobelist. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2024 “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life.”
Interesting Interview with Han Kang about her path of becoming a writer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQTI6bV0waE
The book ‘Human Acts’ was written to honour people taking part in GwangJu democratic uprising in South Korea started on 18th of May 1980. Uprising ended up with massacre done by military on civil population. This event is an examples of how people can unite, support and standing up for each other in an extreme times. There is also a movie ‘Taxi driver’ directed by Jang Hoon that is depicting events from GwangJu uprising if anyone is intrested to check it.
