„Waking up Workers for Their Shift With Swift“ by Vincent FriedrichSupershift is the #1 employee-first app in Germany for essential workers (mainly nurses).
Shift workers face the daily stress of manually adjusting their alarms to match an ever-changing schedule.
With the introduction of AlarmKit in iOS 26, we set out to fully automate that experience, finally getting the familiar system alarm behavior for our app. Or rather, in some cases, (spoiler alert) not really getting the familiar system alarm behavior. In this talk, you’ll be walked through what we learned, and the unexpected challenges we hit bringing AlarmKit into Supershift.
About the speaker:
Vincent discovered his interest for iOS and the Apple ecosystem over 15 years ago and soon decided to gradually focus his career on iOS development, working with companies like Parship, FREENOW, and Volkswagen along the way.
Today, he’s an iOS Engineer at Supershift, where he’s part of a small team focused on improving everyday life for essential workers, while also pursuing his passion for indie app development.8 attendees
