CocoaHeads April Meeting
Details
It's time for our monthly Meetup! Organizing this one was a bit tough as the planned speaker had to cancel his talk on short notice.
BUT Bas and Benedikt spontaneous jumped in and we will have a very nice "lineup" 😄
That said, we would love to have more talks in the pipeline. If you want to share some knowledge/experience with the community, feel free to approach us. Everything from a short Lightning talk of 10min to a full blown 45min talk is possible. Let's talk 🙏🏻
The schedule:
19:00 - Doors open
We will open the doors for soft drinks & beer & pizza.
19:30 - Welcome Round & Announcements
19:45 - "Testing the Untestable" by Bas Broek
Bas will give a talk on writing a new feature on top of an old implementation… without tests. The goal: making the existing implementation testable, and building on top of it to write the new feature in a more test-driven way
20:20 - Short Break
20:30 - "Introduction to Swift Keypaths" by Benedikt Terhechte
Keypaths were added in Swift 4. When understood and used the right way, keypaths allow you to implement additional abstractions into your codebase that would be much harder with generics or protocols. Benedikt will first explain the different types of keypaths that exist and then go through real world examples to showcase how they can be leveraged in your own projects.
21:00 - Get together.
Time to have some discussions about the talks, current topics in the Cocoa world or anything else, really. And grab some more drinks.
See you there!
