iOS Lighting Talks - Special Event

Details

Hi all,

we would like to kick things off again with the meetup by having a special event with a slightly different format.

The idea is to get together in the Westhafen Tower and enjoy two presentations (plus questions and answers). We can also do some networking in the breaks by enjoying food and drinks that Cologne Intelligence will kindly sponsor.

The meetup will continue with it's regular format, so this will be a special event to try out. We would have another event with this format if people like it. Future presentations could be done in either German or English.

Talk 1
Removing the fear of iOS code signing - Marc Reichelt, Senior Android Developer @ Snapp Mobile Germany GmbH

In the last years I had to fight with iOS code signing a lot. So often that I started to pray that the last signing stage of our Jenkins builds would succeed, in fear of not knowing how to resolve those weird error messages. Then apocalypse day came - code signing broke for days, teams were blocked, and nothing we threw at our build server would work. 😱

We gathered in mobs to see if we could fix it together - still no luck. Then I reached out to everyone who could help, and with combined power the problems went away! I learned so much about code signing that day that I’ve been able to solve all my signing problems ever since! 💪
I feel confident that after hearing this talk you will feel the same! We will sign dozens of files in minutes, learn practical tips what to do when code signing breaks, learn a lot about the keychain - and about bad software tools! And have a lot of fun on the way! 😄

Talk 2
SwiftUI Navigation - José Jeria, iOS Dev contractor

Transitioning from UIKit to SwiftUI has its challenges, but the one sticking out the most is probably navigation. We been spoiled with different patterns such as the coordinator pattern in UIKit, but how do you do navigation properly with SwiftUI?

Let's look into the SwiftUI Navigation library and see how it can help us when handling navigation in SwiftUI.

ℹ️ We will also give away the book "Modern Concurrency in Swift" written and provided to us by Marin Todorov. Come to the event to find out how you can be the one going home with this amazing book.
