How Elections Happen, with Dr. Ben Adida of VotingWorks
On Wednesday, Oct 21st, we’ll be joined by Dr. Ben Adida, the founder and executive director of VotingWorks, for a talk on how elections actually happen. VotingWorks is a non-profit dedicated to making elections more trustworthy with secure and robust election technology, and their VxSuite product is the only open-source voting system used in United States elections. At this event, we’ll hear from Dr. Adida about election operations and how VotingWorks fits into the equation, what it means to be an open-source voting system, and what it takes to have your solution adopted by a government agency.
We'll also get to play with one of their open source voting machines - and if you want to take a look at their code, it's right here on Github.

This is the inaugural event in CTNE's new Speaker Series, which aims to explore a wide variety of topics at the intersection of government, community, technology, policy, and history
We hope you'll join us there!
