Civic Hack Night

Welcome to Code for Charlottesville's Civic Hack Night! Come join us in the Center for Civic Innovation (Downtown) from 6:30-9:00pm for our civic hack night. Details about the project are below.

Please come join us to work on a data-based community service project and hang out with a great community of civic-minded people!
Everyone is welcome regardless of their technical knowledge. Laptops are recommended.

We will be providing pizza!

Our project is with the Charlottesville Albemarle Fire Department. We will be working with historical data on the fires that have occurred in this community, and we will match it with current data about the parcels and buildings in Charlottesville to develop a score that predicts how severe a fire is likely to be when the fire department gets a call. The dispatcher will use this score to help decide how many fire trucks to deploy to a call.
