CodeAcross 2015
Details
CodeAcross is a yearly nationwide civic hacking event hosted by Code for America (http://www.codeforamerica.org/) Brigades (http://www.codeforamerica.org/brigade/about) all around the world. The theme for CodeAcross 2015 is Principles for 21st Century Government (http://www.codeforamerica.org/governments/principles/). Our focus will be around making open data easy to find and use (http://www.codeforamerica.org/governments/principles/#open) and utilizing open data to make and improve decisions (http://www.codeforamerica.org/governments/principles/#data).
We will have multiple topics and projects for everyone to work on. The three main topics will be:
• Open Data Census
• Visualizing Open Data with D3.js
• Mapping Open Data with Leaflet.js and Mapbox
Whether you are just learning to code or a seasoned programmer, there will be something for you. This is a great learning opportunity if you are interested in any of the above languages/frameworks.
Lunch will provided, as well as coffee, soda, water and snacks throughout the day. Please RSVP if you are going to attend so we can get an approximate count of attendees.
