Code is Art: The Second One!
Details
The first meeting went great, I was surprised to see so many of you showed up and happy to hear that it was not a waste of time for you!
So, let's do it again. Same place, the wonderful Taille Crayon, just a couple of minutes on foot from metro Gratte Ciel or Flachet. We will have a room to ourselves (the salon: turn right after entering the bar), let's meet and talk about programming without the use of generative AI, to take a break from it getting pushed into everything.
Because we love programming.
(you can also sign up for this event on keskonfai)
The plan
1. 2-3 short presentations 15-20 minutes each; no specific language or framework, open to all, newcomers and experienced developers -- let's have serendipity work for us,
2. stay and talk over drinks, alcoholic or not.
Leave and return any time you like, feel free to use the whole bar to talk to others, consider supporting our hosts through buying some food and/or drinks. This event is open to all: we will not tolerate elitism, sexism, harassment, or bullying; be excellent to each other (and please let me know if something feels off).
Talks
- Découverte Elixir about the language and platform designed to build robust, massively parallel network services. By setop.
- Personal tinkering with Python: how I personally use Python outside of my professional job, with probably random tips and tricks. By Liam.
- Empathy as a superpower: writing maintainable code. By Marcin who wrote a ton of bad code.
The event is free of charge, just please sign up here or on keskonfai in advance so that we know how many people to expect!
