Houston Makerspaces: Build, Prototype, Launch
Details
Have you ever been curious about using tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, welding, woodworking, electronics, sewing, ceramics, and more without needing a full workshop at home? Come join our meetup to learn more.
Our speaker, Charlie Lindahl, will take us on a tour of Houston’s makerspaces, showing us where they are, how they operate, and the amazing projects you can create. Feel free to bring your questions and chat directly with Charlie about what you can do in makerspaces and how to get started. We look forward to seeing you there!
Houston offers options for every budget and skill level, including nonprofit subscription-based makerspaces (approximately 12 in Houston), university and community college makerspaces (HCC, Lone Star, and more), and library makerspaces (often free with a library card).
Manufacturing is returning to the U.S. If you’ve got a product or manufacturing idea, a makerspace can be the place to prototype it and maybe turn it into a startup.
