A Practical AI Coding Workshop

AI coding tools can generate websites, applications, plugins, and complete software projects faster than ever. But generating code is only the beginning.

The more important question is:
Can we tell whether the software actually works?

At this Code4Y’all meetup, we will take a practical, community-driven approach to reviewing AI-generated software. Instead of a traditional presentation, we will examine real examples, test assumptions, identify problems, and discuss what is required before generated code can be trusted in a production environment.
Together, we will explore questions such as:

  • Does the application meet its original requirements?
  • Is the code secure and maintainable?
  • What should be tested before the application is released?
  • When should developers improve AI-generated code, and when should they start over?

Bring Your Laptop

This will be an interactive, hands-on meetup, so please bring your laptop.
You are encouraged to prepare a small example you can show to the group, such as:

  • An application, website, plugin, or feature created with AI
  • Code generated with ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or another tool
  • A project that works but may contain hidden problems
  • An unsuccessful experiment that taught you something useful
  • A technical issue you would like the group to review

You do not need to prepare your own project to participate. You can follow the examples provided during the meetup, suggest tests, identify problems, and work with other attendees to improve the software.
Participants will have an opportunity to review code, test functionality, identify risks, and discuss possible improvements with other developers.

This meetup is designed for web developers, application developers, software engineers, technical leads, founders, students, and anyone experimenting with AI-assisted development.
You do not need to be an AI expert or an experienced code reviewer.

Bring your laptop, your questions, your experience, and your curiosity.
Join us for an open, practical discussion about the difference between software that can be generated and software that can be trusted.
