codebar is an international non-profit initiative that facilitates the growth of a diverse tech community by running free coding workshops in a safe and collaborative environment to help them expand their career opportunities.
Our main focus is to encourage women, the LGBTQA+ community and minorities to learn the basics of coding and help them to understand programming concepts. But anyone who’s interested and wants to be part of the codebar.io community is welcomed.
We are very careful to create a nurturing, respectful environment to foster creativity and confidence. Each event will be hosted in a different venue every time.

What is codebar?
codebar is an international non-profit initiative that facilitates the growth of a diverse tech community by running FREE coding workshops in a safe and collaborative environment to help each participant expand their career opportunities.Who can join?
- Students: Individuals from underrepresented groups in the tech industry in China who are eager to learn coding.
- Coaches: Experienced coders who are passionate about mentoring and guiding others.
About the Workshop
The Workshop has a duration of two hours. During those two hours, students are paired with volunteer coaches to either learn new skills or ask questions about projects they are already developing. Our goal is to pair everyone one-to-one or two-to-one.At codebar, we encourage new students to work on our HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Java, or Git tutorials, also help them understand the fundamentals of programming.
