Summer of Code Series
Details
Hi Everyone!
Hope you are having a good summer so far. Lets meet again to catch up on learning some code. We are in for some luck this time. There is a new program called "Summer of Code" that is simultaneously happening across the globe. As part of this program, a great set of new courses around building wonderful websites has been made available in Codecademy. The plan for the meetup (3 in the series) is to go through these new courses and build a portfolio project or a website for something that you always wanted to do. You can share the code through CodePen with others to gather feedback. If we have really good projects, we can share them over social media too!
The official announcement about "Summer of Code" is given below:
Codecademy's Summer of Code Challenge gives students the opportunity to learn the basics of web design. They'll create their own websites with their newfound knowledge, put them on Codepen, and share their creations with the world. Summer of Code sites will focus on the betterment of the learners' schools and communities, allowing coders to make a difference in the world around them with the power of code. On September 1st, they'll share their sites on the Codecademy subreddit, where learners everywhere will vote on the winner. The top website creator will work with a Codecademy engineer to host their site and spread the word about their project.

Looking forward to meeting you all!
