Should you use GraphQL or REST for your APIs?

We'll begin with a presentation from Mircea Nedelcu on the topic of GraphQL.
GraphQL is an open source query language for APIs developed at Facebook.
We will discuss the problems GraphQL is trying to solve, we will compare it with REST and then we will demonstrate a simple User Management app.

We'll follow that with lightning talks on APIs and other topics the participants decide.
A lightning talk is a 5-10 minute presentation on any topic. Ideas for lighting talks include discovered technologies, technology ideas, papers or blog entries, or a persuasive argument -- anything software related. You don't have to be an expert to give a lightning talk, just passionate! Help plan the lightning talks by adding comments.
