Civic Hack Night at Atlanta Tech Village
Civic hack night is a welcoming, open space for civic-minded, social good tech projects. We invite people of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate. While writing code is usually a component of our projects, we also need participants with backgrounds in user-experience design, data science, project management, and marketing. We'll have pizza available, so don't worry about dinner plans. We start off by learning about civic projects attendees have brought and then divide ourselves into small groups to get to work. We also organize breakout groups for brainstorming new projects and host an orientation session for new members. If you have a project to work on, or you'd like to lead an interest group brainstorm, please email us at [masked]. Bring a laptop, because most of civic hack night is spent collaborating in breakout groups. We're sponsored this month by Flatiron School: https://flatironschool.com/campuses/atlanta/ Sign up to our Slack organization if you haven't yet -- http://slack.codeforatlanta.org -- Slack is useful for sharing resources during civic hack night and keeping in touch between events.

What we're about

We invite technologists of all stripes -- coders, designers, data scientists, product managers, and more -- to join our all-volunteer efforts to make Atlanta a better place. Anyone can lead a civic-minded, social good project. We welcome partnerships with local non-profits and government agencies on projects that serve the public and engage with all of metro Atlanta's communities.
